KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILTIIES

FUNDRAISING & DONOR ENGAGEMENT

  • Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, this role is instrumental in growing KCRep’s community of individual supporters and deepening donor relationships to fuel our artistic and community programs.
  • Drive Annual and Mid-Level Giving: Acquire, renew, and increase donor contributions by creating pathways for increased engagement and long-term support through annual fund/membership giving ($1-$999) and by managing a dynamic portfolio of mid-level donors ($1,000–$4,999). Working closely with Development colleagues to ensure a seamless donor journey, transitioning donors as they grow in their giving.
  • Create Compelling Appeals and Touchpoints: Working with teams across the company, gather compelling information to craft persuasive proposals, appeal campaigns, and other donor materials that inspire generosity,
    including digital campaigns, touchpoints, and stories of impact that strengthen donor loyalty and drive increased giving.
  • Support Major Event/Campaign Fundraising: Collaborate with the Gala Committee and the internal Gala staff lead to secure individual sponsorships for KCRep’s annual Gala, as well as for other key events and campaigns.
  • Cultivate and Steward Donors: Develop personalized strategies—calls, emails, handwritten notes, special invitations, impact reports, and progress updates—to ensure every donor feels valued and connected to KCRep’s mission.
  • Develop a Prospect Pipeline: Research and analyze donor data to identify high-potential supporters, using giving history and behavioral insights to guide cultivation strategies.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Donor Portfolio Administration: Collaborate with the Database Manager and Associate Development Director to implement and maintain systems for managing donor portfolios within our CRM environment. Leverage the database to identify prospective donors with the capacity and propensity to make new or increased contributions and to monitor donor engagement activities. Ensure all donor interactions are appropriately documented in Tessitura.
  • Benefit Fulfillment: With the Development Associate-Events & Executive Operations, facilitate benefit fulfillment for individual giving and sponsorships for annual, mid-level, and gala supporters.
  • Events: Back-up and support Development Associate-Events & Executive Operations and other Development colleagues in all event functions as needed including the gala, opening night parties, and donor cultivation events.
  • Foster a work environment that incorporates KCRep values and moves forward the mission of the organization.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required.
  • Demonstrated experience, success, and progressive responsibility in fundraising with a minimum of three years’ experience, ideally at least two years working in an individual giving, membership and/or major gifts program.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of discretion and ethical approach to fundraising, including maintaining confidentiality, ensuring donor privacy.
  • Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to solve problems efficiently and creatively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ideally has experience with a CRM database, such as Tessitura.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance and/or reliable transportation required for out-of-office travel as required by the position.
  • Able to lift 25 lbs., as needed.
  • Some evening and weekend availability required.
